About Mike:
Michael received his Masters degree from Asbury Theological Seminary with his emphasis being in Spiritual Care and Counseling. He received his national board certification and license from the Association of Professional Chaplains which concentrates on a full comprehensive integration of the behavioral sciences and spirituality. He is a certified member of the American Red Cross Critical Response Team on a National level.
The emphasis of his practice is that each precious person holds the key to unlocking the answers that are present inside them, but need the assistance at times of a skilled practitioner and therapist to dust off the brokenness in our lives and begin to hear the inner voice of God. Mike's practice begins with a thorough history and assessment of one's life and begins to actively listen and hear what the person is really trying to say from their perspective.
A personality data profile is given helping the client to understand who they are so that they can begin to hear and practice new cognitive thinking skills for coping with life overwhelming problems.
Mike call his counseling sessions: Wake up sessions
Once you have left the toxic pond of negative thinking patterns and have begun to implement new cognitive ways of looking at life you will find that you will never be able to go back to your old ways! You will find that no matter what life throws your way or what problems you face you will have the power to cope and thrive even in the midst of the most seemingly horrible situations you are in.
Mike has over 33 years experience with all person's from every walk of life and has had extensive training in cross-cultural communications having spent 10 years in the Republic of South Africa. Having experienced many serious health issues and facing death on several occasions has given him a special sensitivity to those in dire physical and emotional circumstances. He survived 6 months in the hospital in 1989 for AML leukemia and had a bone marrow transplant at that time which cured his disease! But has since time dealt with stage IV cardiomyapathy, and most recently had his "own" adult stem cell transplant in Bangkok Thailand in May 2008. Yes, out of all that health threat and the general chaos of life Mike has come to a place where he is extremely happy and whole. Even in the midst of facing death on a daily basis Mike says, "there is hope and a wonderful sense of well being that has come out of these seemingly life altering events!"
Please take a look at his own blogspot which shares his story through the Stem Cell process. It can be found at michaelrumble.blogspot.com
Finally, Mike has spent the better part of the last 20 years sitting with the dying as a professional chaplain in both hospitals, homes, and hospice houses and has had the wonderful privilege of helping to "birth souls to new life!" He has facilitated hundreds in grief and bereavement support groups and individual counseling to process through the full time job of grieving. He says that his greatest education hasn't come from his several certifications, diploma's, degrees, and licensure, but from life lessons that have come from the dying patients who have given him the honor and privilege of being in their sacred terroritory at one of the most intimate times of their lives. They are the greatest teachers and teach you how to live life to the fullest.
His book that is still to be written: "Getting in the bed with the dying, birthing souls to new life"
